PRP

PRP works by harnessing the growth factors and healing properties found in your own blood platelets, which are extracted, concentrated, and then injected into the scalp. These growth factors stimulate the hair follicles, which may promote hair regrowth, hair density and thickness.

Before having PRP at Allure Women's Healthcare clinic, a comprehensive consultation with one of our practitioners is an essential step. During this consultation, you will have the opportunity to openly discuss your concerns and desired outcomes with your practitioner.

Based on your individual needs, your practitioner will develop a personalised treatment plan and guide you through the entire process. They will explain how the treatment works, the potential benefits, associated costs, and any possible risks or complications. Additionally, they will provide you with post-treatment instructions.

After your PRP procedure, follow these important post-operative care instructions. Gently wash the treated area within 48 hours using a mild shampoo. Protect the scalp from direct sunlight with a hat or sunscreen. Avoid strenuous activities for at least 48 hours. Refrain from smoking and limit alcohol consumption. Attend follow-up appointments with your doctor or nurse for monitoring and guidance. Remember to follow the specific instructions provided by your healthcare provider for your PRP treatment.

The timeline for seeing results from PRP for hair regrowth can vary from person to person. Typically, noticeable improvements in hair growth and density can be observed within 2 to 3 months after starting PRP treatments. However, multiple sessions are often recommended, spaced several weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Continued improvement may be seen over the course of several months as the hair follicles respond to the treatment.

Risks and Complications associated with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) may include infection, pain, discomfort, bruising, swelling, scalp sensitivity and a lack of desired results.
